The real secret to effective self-defense training is just having the discipline to show up and do the work, but no one wants to hear that. And what comprises The Work matters quite a bit as well, so just showing up isn't really enough unless you've found a place that understands the new paradigm.
I'm too tired, I'm too busy, I'm too poor, I'm afraid of looking incompetent...well, guess what? You're going to look pretty incompetent if you have to defend yourself and you can't - and you'll probably end up poor and tired.
The legacy firearms training paradigm is stagnant, static, reductionist, and based on decades-old data and methodologies. Change my mind.
